we FINALLY have warm weather here! did anyone else feel like summer might not be happening???? we are happy happy people with the warm weather!!! awww sun!!! we finally got to open and USE our pool! since this pool is basically the black hole of our finances during the summer, it is nice when we get to enjoy it....instead of paying to maintain the crystal blue waters so that it will look pretty in our backyard ..all the while we have our HEAT on in may! ha!
this year, we have enjoyed having the pool so much more than other years simply because jax loves to go out and "im". the pool is just so much more fun with a little guy to play with in the water! we have been doing LOTS of swimming!

whenever we come in from swimming, jax stands at the back door and just begs to go back out. he's my little water baby for sure!
jax found a new 'spot' last week....where does he come up with this stuff??! i walked into the kitchen and found him laughing and laughing HYSTERICALLY while he sat in the kitchen drawer! what a GOOF!
we had a really fun 4th of july celebration this week!
we went to a breakfast at our church in the morning. it was really fun! i am always so suprised at how many people come to this breakfast! every year i think that there won't be anyone there b/c of all the people that go out-of-town for the 4th...but every time we go, i am so flabergasted by the turn out. very impressive!
after the breakfast, jaxton had mema and momma wrapped around his little finger. he entertained us for a good 45 minutes. he is such a funny little man...of course, we are biased :-)
before his nap, i attempted MULTIPLE times to get a good picture of jax in his red/white/and blue outfit from my mom...he would NOT cooperate!!! lil' stinker!
i kid you not, before each of these pictures were taken, he was laughing and smiling and SO happy, but as soon as the camera was whipped out, he would stare at the floor or look away. tips on getting him to cooperate with taking a picture? grrr!
for dinner, we went to cafe ole since nobody felt like cooking (thanks for treating, mom!). what a great way to celeberae a patriotic holiday, huh?!? very festive. :-) after dinner, we did our own little firework show. we were on a RESTRICTED budget for fireworks. do you know how easy it would be to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on fireworks? the firework stand that we spent our whole $15 limit at had a fountain firework -- ONE firework --for $75. holy smokes!
jaxton was SO BRAVE. i can remember being a little girl and being so SCARED of the sparklers. the last thing i wanted to do was hold a stick that was on fire and shooting sparks everywhere, ya know?!? to be honest, i was a little hesitant even this year. imagine a grown woman AFRAID of a sparkler. it's quite the sight, really! i bit the bullet, tho, and did it for my boy! it's amazing what mommyhood will make you do! jax made daddy proud and held the firey stick fearlessly!!! :-)

Thanks for going on a bicycle ride to the breakfast, for by doing so, that breakfast was calorie free!!
It was a relaxed 4th of July...but it was great for it had the three most important things - family, food and fun...
Jaxton sure loves his momma and daddy...you know because he says "hi Mom" and "hi Dad" and it is followed by his attempt at saying "I love you"...

That's so awesome that you've (finally!) been able to get good use out of your pool; I love how my boys nap really well after swimming :).
Jaxton is getting so big! He is such a cute little guy. It looks like you have had a great summer. Miss you guys!
