Since we were so busy running back and forth to see everyone, I never remembered to snap enough photos. boo! But we did get lots of great videos of opening presents and our annual talent show and a few photos!
Christmas Eve night we had our traditional gift exchange/white elephant with Shawn's extended family. It was super fun and there were lots of clever white elephants! We gave a gold-fish with a whole start up kit. Pretty funny! Then we busted out of there fast to head over to the Buckley Christmas Eve Talent Show. It was small in numbers this year... but so, so fun!
By the time we got home that evening, Jax was DONE! oh, buddy, Christmas Eve is just the start! Poor little guy! Right before he went to bed, tho, he opened up his traditional Christmas PJs.
Christmas morning my Mom came over and we had a pancake breakfast and openend presents. We usually do a big cinamon roll, egg casserole breakfast.... but, I don't know, I just wasn't feelin' it this year! So pancakes it was! It seriously took like 3 hours to eat and do presents. Everytime Jax would open something.... even a stocking stuffer from Santa, we'd have to take a break for 5 minutes and let him play with his new toys. I think he was pretty overwhelmed, but after about 4 presents he got the hang of it and LOVED opening presents. It was cute to watch him and we got some great video of present opening. He's turning into SUCH a boy and loves trucks, cars, and trains. We found a Thomas the Train play set for mega cheap at Fred Meyer... we were so excited to give it to him! He loves it!
For our family gift this year, Shawn and I bought a piano. We were super stoked to find this deal! $80 off of Craigslist. BOOM! We have been looking for a piano for a few months, but just couldn't afford one. We really want to foster this incredible interest that Jax has in music - but even used pianos are like $700. Totally ridiculous! So we were so, so excited when we found this one! It's an antique...we did some research on it and found that this particular brand of piano hasn't been made since 1920 - so it's around 100 years old. Crazy! Our goal is to save our money and refinish it. It really is a pretty piano, but has definitely seen it's day on the exterior. The sound is really good, it just has been scratched up a lot on the outside. We feel very fortunate to have found it ... for so cheap too! Jax is loving playing it! It's super cool to watch him. I can't wait to get him in lessons. He is gentle with the keys and really listens to the notes. It's neat!
Our little guy on Christmas day. Bummer that he didn't even need a coat to go outside. We are "white Christmas" folks for sure and have been super disappointed with this warm weather. BUT, it definitely is good for those that traveled! Doesn't he look great in his cute little hat?!?? Such a stud! :)
Truck in hand is pretty much how Jax has been found; since Christmas morning :)
When we finally got back home Christmas night, Jax was out! He was so tired from all the fun playing and present opening! What a sweet boy! I got some good cuddle time in before bed, which was just what I needed to end the perfect Christmas day we had!
And lastly, for documentation purposes: 6 month belly!
We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! Here's to 2012!! cheers!

It's so exhausting for little kids!!
And I like your sparkly shirt!! You look so cute pregnant.
Fun, fun. I can't believe you got that piano for $80. Amazing. I think it looks really good. Awesome.
What a fun holiday. Kids are so funny how they only open one present and want to play with it and not move on. The piano is awesome what a sweet deal.
