WHEW!!!!...what a week!

Now that we are finally WARM and DRY I can update the blog......

The past week and a half...ish... has been a DOOZY! Last Wednesday, we woke up to a major flood in our kitchen. We had so much water that it seeped through the walls into our living room. It was a horrible mess!
We had walls cut out and floors tore up for a little over a week. It was like living in a major construction zone. I just about lost my mind. It is hard to be NESTING and have your house basically in shreds! We had fans running for 3 days straight and I think we all had a headache for 3.5 days straight because of it! it was loud and dusty and miserable!! I would wipe the countertops down at least 8Xs a day. Just so we could have a clean place to make a PBJ (since our oven lived in the garage). BOO BOO! It was super hard! We had no place to sit, no place to eat, and Jax had no place to play with his trucks. I have no idea how we got through it! What a stinking nightmare!!!

To get out of the house during the flood clean-up, we went to the aquarium on Saturday morning. It was pretty neat. I don't think I would pay to see it again; but Jax sure loved it! I thot it was crazy that they had a fish in one of the tanks that bites! Let me clarify, a fish in one of the tanks that CHILDREN WERE ALLOWED TO STICK THEIR HANDS INTO!!! There was a sign posted on the wall above the tank that had a picture of said fish, and next to the picture said "Careful, I bite fingers" YIKES! We watched Jax carefully on that one! Overall, it was fun and Jax was in awe. He especially loved the octopus!!

On Wednesday, we had a major snow day!!! Because of the snow, I was able to take the day off of work, so we had a family fun day playing in the snow!!! And it was FUN! We built a snowman, made snow-angels, and played in the snow for hours! Jax was not super interested in building the snowman! Honestly, I think he did pretty good for his age.....We were able to get the arms and eyes in and he was done with that project! So, we ended up with a nose-less, mouth-less, naked snowman. ha!

Sometime Saturday night/Sunday morning, our furnace went out and we woke up to a 62 degree house. Which for us is COLD; we regulary keep our furnace around 71. So..... what's next?? I am really glad we got rid of our home warranty at the end of the year last year. PERFECT timing. grr!
Despite all of our housing mishaps, my belly (and hips and bum, for that matter :( )are coming along nicely. This little girl is growing fast! And, while I tend to feel smaller **albeit slightly** smaller in this pregnancy when compared to Jax, Shawn assures me that I am not. So maybe another 9 lb baby? We'll see :)

The silver lining: Because of the flood and having all of our flooring throughout the house ripped out, we got all new flooring. Triple yay!! Which was really perfect, considering that due to my completely psychotic nesting behavior, I could not scrub our old floor enough.... a new floor was just what the dr ordered. Now I only have to worry about kitchen cabinets and carpet cleaning :)
We went with a darker floor and LOVE it. I was worried I would hate it and that it would show the dirt like crazy, but it actually hides the dust and dirt better than our lighter floor. We extended the flooring through the kitchen so the flooring is the same throughout. It definitely makes the house warmer and I think it gives the house a better feel!

Oh man you have had quite the week. Glad that the new floors got in though and you can stop worrying about scrubbing them. I do love the new color of flooring though. It's gorgeous.
